Robert Kirkman Shills for Hyundai

It always seemed weird to me that Shane chose such a dumpy little car for his ride in season 2 of The Walking Dead.  Well now it’s all becoming clear.  It was product placement.  And now Robert Kirkman is bringing product placement into his comic book.

Mr. Kirkman has lost a bunch of respectability points from me friends.  This kind of shit is really disturbing.  It was stupid for Shane to choose a tiny Hyundai to drive.  Why not choose a car with more clearance to run over zombies and shit?  Why not a heavier car to smash through zombie herds?  Why not a truck or something higher that would keep the driver out of reach of zombies?  Or a vehicle that could carry more supplies?  Yes folks, I’m a little slow but now I get it.  Product placement.  Kirkman allowed big corporation ad revenue to negatively affect his writing.  To make it just little stupider.   And now he’s bringing that stupidity to his comic book.  Ugh.  He’s even designing a special custom Hyundai that they will actually build and show off at Comic Con in San Diego.  Blech!

I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead, the show and the comic.  Kirkman is a mighty talented fellow, but a hunk of his artistic integrity has just been bitten off by the teeth of corporate America; I really hope the greed fever doesn’t get the best of him.

Spoiling the Comic
