Io9.com has a pretty cool post about the scifi/fantasy /horror movies to watch out for in 2012. Actually it’s the 70 Science Fiction and Fantasy Movies to Watch Out for in 2012. Huh?! Really? 70? Sorry but that’s a bit much. As a public service I will cull through the list and give you a handy consolidated list of Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror movies to watch out for in 2012.
The Divide
I’m a sucker for Post-apocalyptic stuff and I’m a Michael Beihn fan (Reece!). Also the trailer looks sick.
When you do a big budget Edgar Rice Burroughs that isn’t Tarzan, that’s something to watch out for. When you get Brad Bird, who did The Incredibles for Pixar to direct, eyebrows rise higher.
The Hunger Games
Post-apocalyptic, dystopian United States. That makes it worth a look in my book.
The Avengers
I grew up with this comic so I gotta see it.
The trailer looked pretty cool too.
Dark Shadows
Tim Burton directing a movie version of this cult vampire TV series. Sounds interesting!
Alien prequel with Ridley Scott at the helm. Yeeeeaaah! Sign me up!
Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter
With a title like that how could you not be interested, even if you haven’t read the Seth Grahame-Smith’s book it’s based on.
The Amazing Spider-Man
I’m a huge spidey fan. No matter how superfluous a reboot seems, I’m there.
The Dark Knight Rises
I’m not really a fan of Nolan’s Batman, really the last one was only good because of the Joker. But it’s Batman.
Alfonso Cuarón Orozco directed this, he directed Children of Men. Nuff said.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Duh.
World War Z
Brad Pitt in a zombie apocalypse movie. Hmm….
Antiviral
Intriguing premise about smuggling viruses directed by David Cronenberg’s son. Let’s hope he’s a chip off the old block.
There you go. Only 13. Now that’s more manageable don’t you think?
